This isn't really intended to be a deep discussion about Michael Jackson's music history, if Courtney Love and Yoko Ono were the downfall of Nirvana and the Beatles, or if Elvis is partying with Andy Kaufman at Neverland.  In a week or two everyone will say their piece and then we can talk about our favorite drama movie.... As opposed to going and signing up for yet another forum, let's just do our thing among people we know...

Quite simply.....

What music inspires you or characterizes you?

I think you missed Rhune's post regarding a sister site for this

Just a recommendation from another poster, this will be out of our system in a week (as opposed to signing up for yet another forum)

I certainly understand that but we are such a diverse group it would very difficult to have a SINGLE forum for music which is why Rhune suggested sister site where all kinds of music can be discussed

Well, if its too much, I guess lets just discuss to what music characterize us or simply inspires us...

So let me start... I love and am inspired by the music of Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. Aerosmith especially when I'm feeling down or/and low and needs energy, excitement or just something to boost up morales. It also helps me face depression and heartbreaks.

Bon Jovi, the same thing about heartbreaks but also inspires me when I'm in love or atleast in infatuation... and to face life's challenges...

But all in all, I'm more of an Aerosmith person... man, Steven Tyler is cool...

overall music, I'm more into rock and roll - old school plain and simple. I dont get rap or the new punk era... I love love songs that I can relate of course("Something Stupid" by Sinatra, "Listen to the Rythm of the Falling Rain", songs by the Carpenters, etc...), and other style are so so...
