Swim with Dolphins?

I have googled "swimming with dolphins in orlando, and have found a very neat thing offered by Disney.  I'm wondering if any of you have done this?  It's reservation only, and quite expensive.  My Kaci is quite a fish, and I truly think she would love it; however, as I said...It's quite expensive.  If anyone has done this or knows of anyone who's done this; I would love your feedback.

Never did it. I have done the "swim with the stingrays" in the Grand Caymans. That was a complete blast. A must for anyone who is on a cruise and hits that island.

My daughter would LOVE to do this!  It is very expensive, however, so I don't know when or if this will happen.  I know a little girl who did this for her birthday and she loved it.

Cool  We've missed on this one every time.  It does fill up early, so make a reservation now without delay!

This would be awesome for her.  Forget about the money, she'll have a wonderful experience forever.
And if we can ever get to swim with the dolphins, we definitely will do it!

We did swim with the sharks and stingrays last month!  Fun!
............but not as good as the dolphins would be Cool

After reading everything you all have offered, and adding advice I've gotten from others; I think I am just going to tighten my belt and make the reservations for Kaci and I.  It really does seem like a lot of fun.  She is totally gung Ho about the idea, and hasn't quit bugging me about the idea since I mentioned it to her.

Thanks for your help!

I would just like to remind everyone that as cool as swimming with Dolphins would be (yes, I'd love to do it) by visiting these businesses we are contributing to the increase in captive dolphins. If you must visit with these beautiful creatures please try to be satisfied with watching them in the wild.

Thanks Luci.  I made the reservations this morning.  Eek, I had to pay in advance and I'm still reeling from that! Shocked   I do not think I have made a mistake.  Fingers crossed.  Smiley

Is that true?  I've been there over 7 years ago and never noticed that.   Is it a new attraction?   And how much is it?

yes arfan, it's true.  It's called discovery cove.   Below is the intro on their website.....

Welcome... The day is all yours at this one-of-a-kind tropical hideaway. So, explore to your heart’s content. Relax on our pristine beaches. And even more enticing, do it all at your own pace.

Soak in the stillness as you find yourself surrounded by acres of lush greens and deep blues. And, feel the lure of the sparkling lagoons, reefs and grottos. Here, there are no crowds or barriers. And simply taking a breath feels exciting.

Experience both power and playfulness during your reserved swim with a bottlenose dolphin. Share a smile with your new friend, along with its force and grace, as you glide through the waves. It’s the centerpiece of your visit and a once-in-a-lifetime thrill.

After swimming under a picturesque waterfall, you’ll enter a series of free-flight aviaries that tower above you. Here you can touch, feed and get acquainted with hundreds of colorful tropical birds and other fascinating wildlife.

Feel a unique mixture of calm and captivation as you snorkel amid thousands of rays and exotic fish, and explore the splendor of coral reefs and grottos. It’s an experience as vivid as the colors you’ll encounter.

The exploration and enjoyment doesn’t all occur outdoors. You’ll also be treated to a delightful lunch that lets you eat light or dive right in. And browsing through our gift shop is an adventure in itself.

You deserve to be in Discovery Cove. Come explore. Make a day of it.

Personal Attention
At Discovery Cove, there are never any crowds as attendance is limited to 1,000 guests a day, ensuring a relaxing experience for everyone. A high level of guest service abounds at Discovery Cove as guests are personally checked in for their day of discovery. After check in, guests enjoy a beautiful walk through a nature trail where they may encounter some unique animals and prepare for the serenity of their day.

Age Requirements
The only activity with an age requirement is the dolphin-swim experience, which requires guests to be at least 6 years old.

I havn't done it yet, But I did put together a national promotion last year for Pembridge Farms that included 3 grand prize vacations, one of them being a Dolphin Swim and Deep Sea Fishing vacation. I had the opportunity to talk with the winner a month after the trip and from what I was told the whole Dolphin Swim experience was "as close to spiritual you can get while swimming". That comment stuck with me, so I guess it will be a blast for you if you do it.

Have Fun.
