Ok, do you want to only travel to America?  LL suggestion was wonderful.

If you care to go to Mexico, there is always Cancun, 365 days of spring break!   Well, not quite that bad, but a  lot of great places.  Hotels are wonderful there.  The Mayan Ruins, plus other interests of history are in that area.

Maybe you can do both, yes? Grin

Thank You Lake... I had really considered driving my way south east but since I am travelling alone I dont feel comfortable doing that. I havent seen all that much of the US...last year my Brother and I drove from here to New Mexico- and saw wonderful things along the way.I loved seeing the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon made me cry...Oregon Coast ,incredible!

Id love to go to GA, and NewOrleans, and so much more!...since reading your 'Southern gals' post I wonder though....would I need to bring along my Canadian to Southern Girl dictionary?

Thanks for the link...going to check it out!

The most beautiful beach I've ever seen is Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, FL.  I can't tell you a whole lot about the night life there, but the sand is the color and consistency of flour and the water is calm, clear, and beautiful.  It is not at all uncommon to see pods of cow-nose rays (that generally aren't a stinging threat because their venom barbs are at the base of their tails) that you can reach out and touch or to see dolphins jumping up out of the water, so close that you could practically swim out to them.

Siesta Key is just beautiful and there are lots of nice places to stay out there.  Lots of good places to eat nearby, too!

No, kelby I think you could understand us just fine.   Grin

It is a far distance to travel alone though.   The Grand Canyon is pretty cool, huh?  I think I cried the first time I saw it too.   Another consideration might be Big Sky, Montana.

I have always wanted to go there.  Waterfalls, white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking and the magnificent beauty of it all.

While this isn't near the beach, if you are going to texas, two places not to miss are the Riverwalk in San Antonio and Zilker Park in Austin.

I have been on the Riverwalk twice and both times it was just...magical.  you have this twisting complex of patio restaurants and shops along the side of the river and walkways going across at various points, there are colored lanterns along the path and it's just...marvelous....very romantic and at the same time was just carefree with lots of men and women walking about.  This might be a good place to find men to flirt with. Last time I was there it was crowded with single men.

I spent many many hours at Zilker Park when I lived in Austin.  It's a place in the river where they built a swimming pool right into it, so the water coming through is natural current.  Further down the path you have an area of the river where you can rent canoes and there are swans and turtles and big lilly pads...across the street on the other side you have the botanical gardens with one of every kind of rose and my personal favorite, the japanese gardens.  They have this spot in the japanese gardens where they have a giant koi pond with these stepping stones built right in and you can walk right out onto the pond and next to that is a japanese bridge with this little plaque about how when you walk across the bridge, you leave your troubles on the other side.  I used to hang out there at night in college, and it was just so peaceful and beautiful.  I can't wait to go back there and visit again.  sigh...

well kelby if I may endulge you to come over here in the Philippines.. I think you would enjoy here... around September would be the sort of the start of Christmas season here.... I would suggest you the Boracay Island for its sugary white beach and a lively nightlife, also there is Puerto Galera..... for nature tripping and beaches you can visit Palawan, specifically El Nido (according to spoilers Amazing Race5 did tasks here) and Puerto Princesa...  surfing? you can try Siargao and La Union..... Grin

click the wowPhilippines banner below my post or you may visit this URL... Grin www.wowphilippines.com.ph

some images for you...

Puerto Princesa underground river (longest one in the world)

one of Palawan beaches

Puerto Galera

Boracay (our prime tourist destination)

and by the way September would be a nice time to come over.. its not that hot here and you can enjoy the sun because the monsoon season would have past already by then.... Grin

That did it, Paulo.  You shouldn't have posted those pictures.  Now you'll have to find room for all of us to come visit you so you can take us to those wonderful places.
