The Teddy Bear Factory - Meeting Tom and Kathy

Rhune or moderator..please feel free to move this. I wasn't sure where the best place would be to post it.

A few weeks ago, Kathy and Tom went to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory to help them unveil the Soul Bear which is the Bear that was supposed to be Kathy's luxury item ..only after eveyone chose, the produces decided they couldn't have them. The bear had been created by TBF with Kathy's help and part of the proceeds go to the Kathy O'Brien Foundation which is a Foundation to help build up women's confidence in themselves. The event was totally free..other than a 3 hour ride for me which was well worth it. I not only managed to position myself right in direct line of where they would be coming into the place where they spoke but I also was on the side and had one of the best views for pictures.

I thought I would share some of them with you.

The whole point in this little TBF event was to unveil the Soul Bear which was supposed to be Kathy's luxury item if they had been allowed luxury items.

So they had the counter set up with a bear representing Jeff and out of this little smoke area a bear was raised. Someone got right in my way when the bear went up so I didn't get a picture of it..but the whole scenery is cute so I thought I would share.

They then sent a person in a soul bear suit around to wave and spend time with the kids. I think this bear was a kid cause they acted very unsure of themselves but the costume was adorable and many kids went up to him. The woman in charge of him had to keep making him move around.

They were 20 minutes late starting and we were all getting antsy for it to get started. Finally out they come..and I was in the direct line for them to come to..I got to shake both their hands and Tom said "howdy Darling" to me.

Tom won my heart that day cause he immediately headed to the wheelchair section to give each of them a personal hi. A few months ago, I would have been in that section instead of where I was. It just really made me love this man. And yes..I totally understood every word he said that day.

the rest of these are just pictures of them while they talked about the game and a bunch of things. They both got very into it, did a lot of joking around and laughing. It was a lot of fun listening to both of them.

and of course the highlight of the day for me was to be 4th person in line to get both Tom's and Kathy's autographs.

the front paw is Kathy's signature..back paw is Tom's.

This picture doesn't do this bear justice..it is so adorable. The pouch contains a little book that could have been Kathy's diary. The paw has a cute bead bracelet that has words on it. The original ones had 5 different bracelets with one saying courage, one saying faith, one saying strength, one saying something about being wise to Jeff, etc.

It was well worth the 3 hour trip. Tom must have called me Darling at least 3 times and at first I thought he was saying my name.

yeah..you could say that. I was a little broke when I left the place but I had a huge smile on all afternoon. They were gracious enough to stay and sign autographs till they gave everyone one too. They were supposed to have photos taken with people but I left at 4pm and the place closes at 5pm and I waited for an hour to see if they would get to the photos anytime soon and the autograph line was still at least an hour left to go. So I'm not sure if the ever got to the photos or not as that line was way out the door too. My picture would have broken the camera so it was okay..LOL.
