Has anyone ever seen one of these and do they work?  How do the birds like them?

Vari-Crafts Bouncer Squirrel Proof & Selective Bird Feeder
The Vari-Crafts Bouncer Squirrel Proof & Selective Bird Feeder features an innovative design that prevents squirrels and large birds from feeding without the extra accessories that can fail or break. There are no batteries, motors, or springs to go wrong with this feeder. If a squirrel can get past the extra long 18" clear lexan plastic feeder tube, it will only be frustrated when it steps on one of the four individually counter balanced perches. The perches are weight counter balanced individually and are sensitive to weights of about 2 ounces or more. The feeder base features a solid green metal base and feeding ports. The feeder tube holds 6 quarts of seed and the seed level remains visible at all times. The feeder cap can be removed for quick filling and the ingenious clip lock system keeps the cap in place. This feeder may be hung using the included 5" stainless steel hanger. Made in the USA. Lifetime Guarantee.

I recieved one that shape for mothers day from my daughter. but it has a metal mechanism that when a squirril or chipmonk climbs on it the weight of the animal causes the metal cover to go down and close over the seed holes. I am having great luck with it so far. and lots and lots of birds.and no pests.  she bought it at wal-mart i believe for 19.99   kabi

We have chicken feed that get's dropped from the feed tanks everyday, and the birds have a free for all.  I do not have any birdfeed feeders here.  I do have hummingbird feeders though.  Do any of you have hummingbord feeders?  Lately we have had a huge problem with honey bees.  Apparently they have figured out that it's easier to get the nectar out of my hummingbird feeders than to work at the flowers.  The bees are running the hummingbords away, and emptying the feeders....Do any of you have suggestions about how I can deter the bees?

Lakelady - my parents have one at their cottage at the lake and finches adore it.

Mom and dad also have hummingbird feeders and oriole feeders.  They are all working great.

CM I think there are some feeders that work better than others with respect to the bees.

We have a hummingbird feeder and lo and behold, a hummingbird came to it last year.  With all the building going on around us, we were very lucky to have one.  I haven't put it out this year since they come mostly in August.

Luci, I think you should go ahead and try to get them now.  I had about a dozen already, until the bees arrived.  Mine came in Early April.

Really?  Will do, I"ll put it out tomorrow, for we only have one but it feeds four.  Wouldn't that be neat to see four hummingbirds at one time feeding! Cool
