For the Cat Lovers

I am starting this thread in honor of the sweet kitten that I sent to Heaven earlier this week.

I know many of you REVERE and love your sweet feline friends. Now here is the chance for you to tell us all about them and their antics.  Please feel free to post pics!  Tabby has never met a stranger.

Today, I was so surprised by her most recent play for attention.  I had plugged the iron in and had noticed on several occasions that the water for the iron continued to be poured out on the floor.  I have the iron water in a creamer dish on a side table.  Every time I entered the room, I found it tipped over with the water drying on the carpet.  TODAY I saw it unfold.  I was ironing and out of the corner of my eye, I saw Tabby jump on the table and gently nudge that poor container over on its side. And if fell off the table with a whack.  I laughed so hard I almost died. And of course, she was unsure of what she had done.....
The other thing she likes is  BOXES.  Since we have moved to the country, we get lots of packages in the mail.  She likes to dig out and deposit the papers and lie down in the box.  No matter if it is big enough for her or not. She GETS IN IT.  I love my sweet baby and encourage others to post of their experiences.

Cruiser - My first cat growing up was an outdoor cat that adopted us one summer. She used to hunt mice/rabbits as we lived on the outskirts of St. Louis county. She used to drop them half-dead at my feet. She was my girl and I was the only one she would not growl at when she gave birth to a litter of kittens. Every other person would get hissed at.

Senor Gato - Senor was a bundle of love. His mother died in birth and he had a weird fixation for kneading the crook of your neck with his feet while he tried to suckle your neck. He also loved boxes and every time we would buy a 12 pack of beer he would immediately jump in the empty box and sit there for hours. When we would visit my in-laws he would climb up on a chair and hiss at their 14 year old beagle. The poor dog was mostly deaf and blind and had no idea that Senor was being brave and would just casually walk past him. Senor was so proud of himself after that but we hadn't the heart to show him the dog could care less.  Cheesy

I'm sure there are some, but it was long ago and I can't think of any at this time.

Fun to read yours, though Cool

Katarina has too much fun with boxes, before I can transfer them to the garage she has scratched one corner open.   She is getting up there in years, however she still chases and sometimes catches things mostly lizards these days.

She still comes in as the sun goes down every evening and needs her love.  She also gives her love to me.  She is getting very old for a cat and I don't know what I will or how my life will be without her.  She is my cat and my kitty love.

Ok, what cat lovers thread is complete without some humor.

When I was in China last year our tour guide was talking to us about the various foods of the different regions. One of the tourists piped up about Cantonesse and asked if they truly ate cats and dogs.

The tour guide replied that they had a local saying about the Cantonesse.

"They will eat anything with wings, except an airplane. They will eat anything with four legs, except a table."

Our cat, Whiskers, was an orphan, so to speak.  We went on a walk and she followed us home about 6 blocks.  When nobody claimed her, we decided to keep her.  Whiskers also loves boxes.  Whenever she finds one, she is ALWAYS laying in it!  Yeah, our kitty also loves rubberbands, which isn't too healthy for her.
