So unexpected.  Ray Charles died today at the age of 72 of liver disease.   Details will follow.  What a loss!!!   Cry

Guess my earlier comment was a little harsh. I am just totally stunned because I didn't know he was so sick.  
 
Wonder what kind of music Ray will be making with Stevie Ray Vaughn.    Wink

One of the classic and best black musicians! From his part in "We Are The World" to "I Sing This Song To You"... a true contributor to soul, and even rock and roll...

It's heard to believe he's gone.  I was so happy his rendition of "America" was shown/played at the Ronald Reagan ceremonies.  Truly - everytime I hear it, I get goodbumps.

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Ray Charles is being remembered as a musical innovator who blended genres of music to create a new style. Charles died on Thursday (06.07.04) of acute liver disease at age 73.
