Who says we aren't Survivers???

Isn't the game, Outsmart, Outwitt, Outplay?
 
For those of you here last fall, you know we invested some money and then had to hire an attorney to get it back.
 
The now Ex-Bride paid us her part in April, all clear for her.
 
The Ex-Groom tried every trick in the book to keep from paying us.  I won't even go into all the calls he made to us and left messages and to our Attorney, only getting his Assistant, and nowhere!    We outsmarted, outwitted and outplayed him by crossing up and tying up everything he had in his name, or his MothersCool
 
Finally his parents had to be told by the realtor, for the house he built had a contract on it.  His parents had borrowed the money for it to be built.    We got the message they are very unhappy with him, for it came down to them almost having to borrow money to pay us all of his debt!
 
Our Attorney filed a lispendend on the property.  This was what saved us from a loss, for it was in his Mother's name.
 
The new owners of the house closed yesterday and we went to our Attorney's office and signed our part.
 
Our check was there and he did have to pay all the Attorney fees, so we only came out with more stress than wse need at this age.
 
This is something that we NEVER do, our grown children has never asked to borrow one penny from us, let alone put up money to build a house!
 
We are sure this will never happen again to us in this life.  When it sounds to good to be true, it usually is!  I will say this for him, he certainly put one on my husband and also his Ex-Bride's Dad.  
 
 
This guy is just lucky we are the kind pf people to handle it through our legal system.   Next time he may not be so lucky................
.............but then, that's not our problem!
 
Why am I telling all of this?  So that people know to (1. if you smell a rat, there is usually one close by...
(2. don't get mad, get a Lawyer!  
Trust the legal system, for it can be done and NO ONE in this country has to sit still and be outdone by a small time con-man, not one of us!
 
What truly burns me up is the way he played a good trusting man, my husband.    He was welcomed into our home, couldn't be a nicer, well mannered man.  Then this is the way they work.
 
Oh well, another chapter in our life, for it is never a dull moment here! Roll Eyes

No Rhune, this is the one thing money cannot take care of!    
I did send a message if and when he would like to speak with us,  
he is welcome to come to our home and do so.  
The ball is in his court.

That's the real tragedy of this situation, that life long friendships were ruined as a result.

Yes it is, and our friendship goes back to 6 and 7 years of age.
We have heard he truly misses us and may sell his golf clubs.
I do hope he talks with us before doing something that severe.
