A Tragic Story

My brother who lives in Waveland, MS a block from the beach just told me this story and I wanted to share it with you.

Seems one of his neighbors has a son fighting in Iraq. And in their yard they have two HUGE oak trees side by side. They spent alot of money to buy giant yellow ribbons to put on each tree. Next morning they wake up and the ribbons are GONE. They can't believe that someone would stoop to stealing them. Nonetheless, they go out and buy two MORE ribbons and put them up again. Next morning, once again they are gone. Now they are fuming. So they go and have several large signs made at a printer that say: Our SON is fighting in Iraq to protect this country and everyone on this street and HOW DARE someone come along and steal our ribbons! They put the signs up along the street. The next day when they wake up, there are yellow ribbons lining the entire street and someone has placed them on the two oak trees in their yard as well. Meanwhile, the Mr. has gone and rented surveilance equipment so he can catch the thief on film. The next morning they eagerly view the film from the night before. What they see is a fox squirrel timidly approaching the trees. They see his little head peek out from tree to tree. Then he attacks one ribbon and he goes merrily on his way with the ribbon trailing behind him. Comes back and attacks the second one and drags it off and away too.

This was actually on the news night before last in Waveland and they showed the video of the squirrel catching his "prey".

Soooo glad it was only a squirrel, bet he has a great nest built in the tree.
Good luck to the parents and their son in Iraq.
That has to be devastating!
