Love songs?

Hey everyone,

I need some help.  The hubby is coming home next month and I wanted to make a cd of romantic love songs for him.  Not really his cup of tea but I'm sure he won't mind too much. Wink  Everytime I go to download some songs my mind goes blank. lol  So maybe you could post some of your favorites for me.  So far I have As We Lay by Kelly Price and Through the Eyes of Love by Melissa Manchester.  And this was after a couple of days thinking.  At the rate I'm going I'll have it ready the day he gets here.

Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce

(you might get some ideas if you go to ebay and do a search in the titles for "love songs")

"12th of Never" by Johnny Mathis
"Our Love Is Here To Stay"

Look for songs by Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, somem of the oldies and you'll find some good ones.
Song writers, Rogers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Marvin Hamlish.

Country Singers have some good ones also, Steve Holey, Michael Martin Murphy and Lonestar.   They've had hit love songs in the past year.
What a great idea, have fun looking and downlloading. Tongue

Find a
Soft Rock" station out here its KOST they will play a large number of Love Songs in fact KOST here after 7PM calls programing "Love Songs on the KOST" its several hours of nothing but Love songs and dedications. Check your local radio listings to see if you have a similar station other than that check your local music store there are many CD's one can buy that are Love Songs

Thanks everyone!

Boradamer,

I like all kinds of music and so does he.  I had a light bulb moment last night and downloaded some more.  So far I have Melissa Manchester, Kelly Price, Journey-Open arms, Marvin Gaye-Let's get it on, Garth Brooks and Lonestar.  So pretty much anything goes.

David, unfortunately I live in such a small town that we can only pick up 3 radio stations and none of them play that kind of music.  When I lived in Norfolk I had a station like that.  I kept it on all the time plus I would listen to Delilah in the car.  My hubby and I would fight about that but I always won.  I guess being bigger than him helps Smiley  And no music stores, lol

Bon Jovi got some easy listening rock ballad songs... "Thank You For Loving Me", "All About Loving You", etc...

Frank and Nancy Sinatra's "Something Stupid" is great...

Carpenters got one Hell of a list too!

NW, I think it depends on your age.  I was a kid in the 40's, but I always thought you couldn't beat the love songs of that era........but that's me.   It sounds like you've got a mix that will work for you.   I'm glad he's on the way home to you.

"Have I Told You Lately That I Love You"  by Rod Stewart

Yes, I definitely agree with Pocket as I was only a child in WW2 also, however, it's the best music ever written.  Irving Berlin, Glenn Miller along with others................................
