Yesterday we were finally getting the boat in the water this year. We were going to leave around 10 A.M., started to get in the truck and pull the boat and go, but the left tire on the trailor has a flat! I come back into the house, he goes to have it repaired Oh well, a little delay. Other than a few @#&*@ words, he does take it very well! However he is an easy going guy. In less than an hour he was back we're hooked up again and off to the lake. He backs the boat into the water, I back it off the trailor and was going to make a circle, giving him time to park the trailor and whoa! The motor is up and I CANNOT get it down! Now I"m at least more than the length of a football field out in the lake and he is on the dock! Picture this one, we're yelling back and forth on what for me to do, I can't start the motor with it up! I start waving my arms and trying to get someone's attention. After about 10 minutes of trying to get the motor down and yelling for help, I can tell my husband is about to swim out to the boat. Now this is a long way, but then he is in shape and could have made it, if only floating on his back. He can float forever, daing him! Finally one man drives by and I get his attention with the horn, he follows my arm motions and goes after Mr L., brings him right up to the boat so he can get on. He works with the motor a bit to get it down. I had hit the wrong button and the motor had raised up and locked. It would have never come down again without being manually unlocked. Another "luci" adventure! ......just another exciting chapter in our life's book together. We then motored on, anchored for awhile, put up the canopy(which is new and another chapter , so he could and I read a ! After four hours we decided to come home and jump in the pool for a while before dinner. All in all, we had a good day and laughed about one more misadventure together ! *Next story will be why we had to get a new canopy! A real
