luci, will you send me a recipe for ham salad?  That is if you have a good one. Otherwise I'll find one myself.

LL, when I make it I usually make it like I would potato salad, using the same ingredients.
2 boiled eggs
chopped, drained pimento
sweet or dill relish, also drained
chopped onion (opt) I don't use it!
chives
grated cheese, also opt.
a dash of salt, pepper and toss with mayonaisse.  Sometimes I use Italian Dressing instead.

When making these summer salads one can be creative and use whatever foods you like best.

Luci, haven't you tasted a tasteless salad? Or a macaroni salad with so much dressing it looks like soup? :laff:

Yes Jaypee, as a matter of fact I have tasted a tasteless salad or salads.  Several years ago we were visiting London and had always heard of the Harrod Dept. store lunch and how wonderful it is, so we decided to have our lunch there.  The food tables were so beautifuly laid out and the food looked scrumptiusly delicious.  We could not wait to try so many of the different dishes they displayed.  Displayed they were, for I've never tasted so many tasteless dishes in my life.  The English do eat a more bland diet than we Americans and the week I was there I lived on croussants and milk.  Finally we asked the consierge to point us in the direction of a good restaurant where we could get a steak!   Our salvation for it was just like a good
TEXAS T-bone steak.   Thank God for the Scots raising beef cattle!

However I did loose a pound a day while there.  Hmmm, I do think I desperately need to return to London!

As to avoid tasteless dishes, that's what spices and dressings are for, to add a bit of taste!  Someone please tell Harrod's Chef!
