lake's new home

Well since luci shared her home with us I thought I would share the new view of my "hood".

Also, since many of my friends imagine me to greet them on the doorstep like Granny Clampett with a sawed off shotgun, some of you might be relieved to know this. I spoke at length with my parents yesterday about the need for security since I am so very isolated and am on the road all the time out here in the sticks.  So soon we will be checking into guns.  My brother in LA will be visiting in August and since he is a collector he can advise me on something I can carry in my purse.  Needs to be with me in the car and in my home.  Anyhow with that said, here are my humble surroundings.

This is the view of the horse pasture.  My closest neighbor has a stable.

And here's the corral I pass by.

Front of house.

Front porch.  As you can see the ugly door has to be propped open for the Tabster.  Oh, and that stuff growing up the screen is called kudzu and will eat everything alive like a virus if you don't keep it tame.  It is literally the south's version of The Blob.

The view up my little road leading out of the wilderness.

Oh and one other pic I took today.  The view from my window at work overlooking the helipad.

ps Give me time and I will learn how to make my pics smaller.  LOLOL

scanning right, scanning left......don't think I missed anything. Wink     It's a very pretty area,
but you're right, it looks isolated.    Do you need a license to carry a weapon in your state?
My husband took a course given by a police chief on gun safety, and got a license.

Hey Pocket!  Don't think we've ever talked.  Yes we do need a permit and I had one long ago, but never took the time to learn how to use a gun properly. This time I will.  I have considered all other options for protection and just can't see any of them working. Thanks for your input.

Thank you Rhune. I could always ask my supervisor to do it but it makes me feel badly.  Plus  would rather her not know where I spend my entire day. LOLOLO

Great pictures LL Cool  Your home looks very comfy and cozy.  I would be scared to sleep at night so far out.
Where's the street light?  :laff:

Security? You can ask all of us to live with you.  Tongue

Is that secure enough? :laff:

Nice pictures! I would love to live in a place like that, but not so isolated. Maybe I'll have my parents build a house near mine. And my brother and sisters can build their houses in my land too.  Grin

Thanks, Jaypee.  We would certainly have a fun little community.     Grin

luci, I DO have a streetlight. I pay $8 a month for it.  It's in the shot of the road leading out.

Being the introvert and almost anti-social that I am, I LOVE THAT PLACE! Yeah its isolated which makes it more exciting for someone like me.

Just give me a PC with internet, cable TV, phone, and Ill be set.

The road is indeed creepy though, reminds me of such movies like Jeepers Creepers and Signs(where its isolated)... (not trying to scare you ok!)

OMG sweet,  Jeepers Creepers.... lolol
Although I am certainly not introverted, I'm pretty much antisocial as well.  It's nice having no other sounds than those of nature. I'll post some more pictures after my grass has been cut this weekend.  And after I learn to reduce the images. Think I've got that under control now.
