Wildlife Sightings

I decided it was time to just start my own thread to continue on in.

Just now on the way back from lunch from my parent's house (only a mile), I was mosying along about 25 mph.  Right in front of me, a doe just pranced slowly across in front of me.  She was in no hurry and was not frightened. So I stopped my car and rolled down my window and sat there for at least 30 seconds just looking at her looking at me.  She would eat a bite and then watch me again.

I was pissed that I did not have my camera beside me.  From now on it goes everywhere I go.  I hope to get some good lake scenery shots this afternoon when I make my "marina run".

So from now on when a furry creature grants me a photo op or just a silly story I can share it here.     Smiley

I will add the pics from yesterday as soon as I have them sized properly.  Maybe Rhune can help me out on these for the time being.

This is the entrance to The Ridge on Lake Martin.  A place none of us could afford to live.  Maybe we could all go in together for a "cabin".  hehee

This is Church in the Pines.  On Friday, my parents will celebrate their 29th anniversary of being married there.

While out in the boonies you occasionally run across nice people like these. They wanted to talk about Big Brother.

Then I asked them their thoughts on the contestants for Survivor 9.

I took this one at Real Island Marina as a squall was about to pass over.  A squall ususally lasts about 10 minutes and is a blinding rain.  Then all of a sudden within seconds, it's over.

WOW! Love them! Especially the last one. Its so romantic to star gaze over there, but I cant help the feeling of something will grab my girl or I (or us both) by the ankles and drag us there... But fear aside, its all worth it!

Cute donkeys... is it legal to take care of them or one needs a permit over there?

sweet, you've been watching too many scary movies.  LOLOL. It is totally safe here.  The best way to stargaze is out in a boat late at night.  Down a deserted slough where no one is around and you can get comfortable if you catch my drift.  Nice little late night picnic.  Grin

And no, you don't have to have a permit in the country for donkeys, cows, horses, pigs or chickens.  We let them run rampant through the streets.    Wink

I'll have you in a boat in no time.  That's where you meet all the cute girls anyway.  At a place called Chimney Rock.
