my mom is now in the hospital in prince george waiting to get into a hospital in vancouver to have that angiogram. she had chest pains in the doctor's office on wednesday and was admitted asap. i flew up yesterday to deal with the rest of her life while she lies in a hospital bed bored out of her mind but alive. i am ever so thankful. i would appreciate prayers and good thoughts as we wait to hear when the appointment for the angiogram will be (perhaps early next week as being in the hospital puts you higher on the list ).

Thinking of you and wishing our medical system didn't make folks wait so long. your mom has been waiting a long time for this test. Pray all is well and that she gets treated more quickly now that she is in hospital.

thank you for the prayers and kind thoughts. things are on hold here until she can get into st. paul's. they scheduled her for an appointment for monday and then was cancelled when the bed became full again. as a result, we are still waiting.

i am currently going to work for my mom (and able to post at work ~ yippee!), taking care of the poodle, tending to her plants and visiting her as often as possible. she is bored out of her mind at the hospital but the doctor feels that she is safest there. having watched her have an attack on sunday, i have to agree. he has her on bed rest and this is such a foreign concept for her.

we are hoping again for them to make another appointment but this all has to do with a bed becoming free again. :fingerscrossed

my mom is currently being air lifted down to vancouver. i am so happy for her. the procedure is set for 2:30pm pacific time for those of you praying types. it will be complete in just under one hour. she will then need to rest for three hours to help the start site heal. i should hear from her this evening if all goes according to plan. :angel

she is now in vancouver but her airlift was delayed enough that she missed her appie. they are now attempting to reschedule for today. this might be tricky as today's schedule was set down days ago and is full. we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed.

they did the procedure yesterday. one closing value opened up by two stents. after her last hospital brekkie, she is set to leave the hospital into the care of my aunt and uncle (her younger siblings) to drive to penticton and up to pg tomorrow. i am so relieved. we now just have recovery issues to deal with ~ getting her to slowly work up to what she would like to be doing. any suggestions outside of restraints? Wink

my mother got back on saturday evening and seemed tired but okay. unfortunately, this did not last for more than a day. she had chest pains, as she did before, on sunday which made it necessary for me to take her to emergency. they held her in until her bp (200/80) came down and the pains (on a scale of 1 to 10 ranged between 2-5) subsided. they let her go home (i wanted her to stay and the doctor there agreed with me) after she swore to complete bedrest for two days and that she would go see her doctor today. we now have an appointment for 2:20pm. i would appreciate your continued prayers.

my mother's best friend (who is a nurse) believes she is in denial as i do myself. for the moment, she is safe. she just couldn't stand the thought of staying in the hospital (the emerg is stressful as as many of you know too well). i just pray tht we have made the right decision. her doctor is good and so i am holding my breathe until we see him this afternoon.
