Revoluntionary Stroke Treatment

I just saw this on the television.  There was a woman treated at  St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.  She had a serious stroke that blocked blood flow in her brain.  She could not speak and was paralyzed in one arm and leg.

The treatment has been approved in the United states now, I am told.  
 
It is a mechanical device that actually removes the clot from the brain.  
 
This same woman is now working at a store, FULLY recovered.  She can speak, she can walk.  
 
They showed her after her stroke.  She did not know where she was and she could not even move her tongue.  She could open her mouth but because she could not move her tongue she could not speak.  
 
This very same woman spoke to the camera and they showed the actually clot removal on the TV
 
Now I don't know why I would have just happened to see this tonight on the CTV news but I couldn't watch that and not post.  I have only done one search so far on google and the above link is what I came up with.

I am pretty sure I heard about this once before, and I think at this point it's been approved for clinical trials, etc. but not for general public (which may be where the confusion over the approval is).
