I'm sure that this has been addressed already, but I was kind of curious where we all come from.  And then after that, I'm also wondering if you have any neat landmarks or special things in your area that make it special.  I have a couple places to show you of my hometown!

I am from Manitowoc, Wisconsin.  It's a nice sized town, with appx 32,000 people.  I highly doubt that any of you have heard of it, but its about a 40 minute drive to Green Bay (go Packers?) and about an hour and a half drive to Milwaukee.  It's a Native American word, but I can't remember off the top of my head what it means.

This is our library and some of downtown.

During the days of WWII, a company in Manty built submarines to aid the need for them during the war.  We now have one of those submarines, the U.S.S. Cobia on display and available for tours at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum.

This is a picture of our lighthouse and the carferry.  My town sits right on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Thanks to the Lake, we have a beautiful shoreline and marina.  These rocks serve as a path all the way out to the lighthouse, however if you like a more stable path, there's one of those too.

Very pretty pics!  I was raised in Eau Claire, but moved away at 18, and have no pictures.   Now we live in a very small town in Texas.

Angel, my Gr Gr Grandfather, the one I've posted about, who came to Texas and funded his own volunteer army to get here to aid in the Fight Against Santa Anna for The Republic of Texas came from his home in Baltimore, Maryland in 1836.

He lived in Palestine County after the battle was won and moved to Collin County in 1869.  He then moved to Collin County where my Gr Grandad, Grand, my Dad and I were born.
The little town he settled in had only 1237 people on the city limit sign in 1958.  It now boasts of over 15,000 and growing fast!
As far as anything of importance, nothing that would be of any interest to anyone but the ones who live or have lived there.
It was a wonderful little town to grow up in durng the 40's and 50's.
We all grew up in a safe happy time! Grin
We drive ther to church where I was baptised as,
I've been a member there for 55 years.
My husband and I only live 7 miles from it now.

Englewood, Tennessee (South East Tennessee)...  population less than 5000... two traffic lights, one school, tiny grocery store, and 1500 churches it seems like... We are a rock throw from the national forests and the ocoee river...

My dad used to work in Shawano (sp), Wisconsin.  Pretty country! No humidity!   Nice....

It gets pretty humid by us; thanks to that huge lake.  I love travelling the country to see what its like in other places!  (I actually wish I could do more of it!)
