Racing!

I've been a racing fan for about 10 or so years.  Mainly, I used to follow CART, now known as the Champ Car World Series.  But lately I've been following a lot of series like the IRL and F1.  I've attended a lot of races at Road America in Elkart Lake, WI as well as at The Milwaukee Mile.  Anybody else into it as well?

Well I wish I could! But none here in the Philippines with such big events, except for drag racing which I dont join cuz I rather use my money for useful things than to pay for damages of my car!
 
I play a lot of those in video games though! Need for Speed, Gran Turismo, Daytona!

This is off topic, but Sweet, my friend's mother is from the Phillipines; they often go back during the summer to visit family and I thought that was pretty cool!

Hey tell your friend to go with them here, and then you guys visit me, Jaypee and Pau!  
 
Eh, not all ok, but I observed that most women here who marries foreigners, especially Caucasians (like I can see 90% of them) tends to be ... prostitutes. Again, not all but most, since both of my aunts are now there in US with American husbands - and they aint skanks! And I think everyone knows that here in Cebu... Cant speak for other islands though. As of Filipino men marrying Caucasians, its much rare here.

I've gone go-karting but it was one of those slow, stupid go-karts that go 35 mph tops.  I would love to go racing but I can think of better things to spend money on.

Well if you really like it, go live your dream and be a racer! Really! I have seen an episode in Oprah when a doctor (female) said if she could have done it differently, she would have pursued a career she loved, even if she is successful now.

I for one am glad "Racin " is over for another year here in my area!  My butt is dragging! 50 hours of work in the past 4 days!  We hosted an IROC race, a NASCAR Truck Race, a NASCAR BUSCH Race and the NEXTEL CUP Race all in the same week!!  I'm bushed!!  Time to do some relaxin' !

Granted, some forms are better than others, but that's what makes it enjoyable.  Personally, I enjoy the road racing series but NASCAR dominates this area.  FYI, we hosted an IRL race here in June.  Those boys were doing 14 second laps here, reaching speeds on our straightaway of 212mph!!  One of the drivers said it was the equilivant of flying an F-16 inside a school gym!  Grin

UHMM.... off topic here again... but let me correct sweet on this... it's not MOST women but on SOME of them are prostitutes....  well... Caucasians or foreigners don't like bringing home whores as wives.... there are really more foreign men marrying Filipinas than Filipinos marrying foreign women....  Cheesy  
 
nons55, so you're friend is half-Filipino then? hmm... if he/she visits the country... tag along and we'd be glad to accompany you..Grin
 
anyways... racing is not much of my liking.... except in computer games (GT, Daytona).. hehehe  Grin

Off topic, yes, my friend is half Filipino.  His dad is American, but its a complicated situation and they no longer speak to him.  He might go visit the country this summer.  May be I'll go!
