Are you against it? Neutral? Or Hell Yeah! ?

For me, I use it more than most here, but as an expression or to express myself better for the bad or good - even if no one is around.

I dont find anything wrong with it except when you use it TO someone(unless they deserve it!:yell: ). Of course I know when to not use it even if it tends to slip off my mouth as easy as I say "hi"... like when kids are around, etc...

And also, I just find it silly and all when kids these days use it to sound cool, like use it in every sentence when its not necessary!

I usually swear when I'm driving; I have a bit of road rage sometimes.  I try not to swear because I don't want it to slip into my speech in professional settings like my job and/or at school.  But I'm not against it; I guess you can't control other people!

For the most part I do not use it in the forums because we do have people here of all different ages and people who don't enjoy it's use.  Our rules say do not use "excessive" swearing, so the occasional "Hell yeah!" is certainly well within that.

You should learn to control your road rage if you plan to be a racer... But on normal driving, I myself tends to get totally pissed - red lights, heavy traffic, inconsiderate drivers(slow ones for no reason! stop on the middle of the road to chat!)... I end up using such words like "witch", "rathole", "duck!", etc...

Ok, I"m from another generation and sometimes I swear!  Driving in a car will certainly bring it out of the best folks I know!
However, it does make me uncomfortable for someone to swear a lot and it is my feeling that a gentleman does not use the vulgar words of swearing when ladies are present.
I'm talking about the ones in our society which we consider worse than others!  In reality, they aren't!

When I do slip and say a few, I feel guilty and am!

Yeah I used to believe that even I shouldnt swear in front of girls and was totally against it(as I was with premarital sex!), but along the road, I dont know when or where, I lost it! I guess Im influenced by media, as well as the kid inside of me screaming to all the events Ive been through...

One thing for sure, it calms me when I use profanity on times that I am so angry or screwed...

And Rhune, how about in real life?

People will argue that those words are just as bad (ie. the attitude behind it)

It is VERY rare that I use bad language.  It just is not part of my vocabulary. My parents will tell you that they have never heard me spout any profanity.

I will however admit to this, being premenopausal can bring out a few bad word.s    Cheesy

I try not to curse, but like many here, when i am driving..i get very angry.  I come up with stuff that would cause my father to have a heart attack if he ever heard.  I am trying to tone that down because I find that it tends to make others in the car umcomfortable.

Also, I do not like it when people (men) talk nasty around me.  This almost caused a major fight with my bf once.  He was talking to a bunch of guys and they (although not him) were making some graphically sexual comments full of profanity in my presence.  This was some nasty crap that had nothing to do with the conversation, they just said it to say it and i (who rarely gets offended by anything) was quite irate that my bf didn't tell them to cut it out while i was there.  Instead he told me i should have left...(considering he drove me I would like to know where he thought i should go but that's a different story)

Anyway, that's my perspective

Both of us are especially careful around the grandchildren.  What they hear from us, they will say away from us!  Also, we have a 20 month old Granddaughter who is mimicing everything she hears!  Papa! Lips Sealed

Driving seems to make everyone be a different person.
I try to be a polite driver! Grin  Sometimes I am tried to the last nerve Roll Eyes

PPP, the general statement of not using "excesive profanity" here in these forums is rather vague I admit.  I have used certain profanity in my own posts in the past.  There is a line however, and the use of the "F word" crosses that invisible line.  I'm sure you understand that since we consider this a Community for all ages, the use of certain words is just not appropriate.
