I have tried to explain to my wife just how nice it is to chat with "online friends". I have met several people over the years and claim many to be good friends. Granted I have never met them but there is something nice about being able to talk openly when it is hard to do so with those immediately in your life.

What is it about being able to talk to people who you don't really know, can't see, and will likely never meet? In many ways, it is easier for me to talk to you guys than it is people I see everyday.

It is easier to pour your heart out when you don't have to look someone in the eye to do it.
