I'm No Spring Chick Anymore

I just started working in retail for the holiday season.  OWWWWW!!!  My feet and my knees are KILLING me from standing on them.  On the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, I stood on my feet for two eight-hour shifts with only a 20-minute sit down break each day.  
 
My poor body isn't used to this.  My poor, poor feet!

AWWWW, Rupey, why didn't you tell us you were working this Season?Our feet takes us a while to get used to that kind of rapid pace for the Holiday rush.
Go for a foot massage and pedicure, it does wonders for tired and aching feet!
 
When did you start working and how long will you work?  
It does take our feet a while to get used to the pace and rush of Holiday Season!

Well, I started training during the first week in November and I've been working part-time hours to help with the holiday shopping rush since November 14th.  I mainly just work on the weekends, with a few weeknights here and there.
 
Luci, will you be a dear and come massage my feet for me? :laff:

Nope, not me!  Go to a professional salon for that, I did and do!  Best money I ever spend.  Get a pedicure once a month and wouldn't miss it Grin

I wear cheap clothes but I pamper my feet with Birkenstocks.  If I don't wear them, my feet hurt badly.
 
BTW, a bit of trivia here:  Pensacola Christian College, a VERY conservative Christian college in Florida, bans the use of Birkenstock sandals as part of its very strict dress code.  I suppose the message is, you can't love the Lord if you wear Birkenstocks.  Heavens, we know JESUS certainly didn't wear sandals, now, did he?

(He never would have been allowed admission to the school with his long hair, beard, sandals, and robes.  He'd have been in direct violation of their standards of decency.)

Birkenstocks were specifically singled out.  I'm not sure about other types of sandals but I do know that no matter what type of shoe the ladies wear, they must wear hose.  Sneakers are also not allowed unless the students are participating in a sporting event.
 
Doesn't this place sound like fun?

Wow, I can't think of a more conservative, sensible sandal than Birkenstocks!  I can't imagine what their reasoning is behind this rule!
