New Year Resolutions
« on: Dec 27th, 2004, 12:12pm »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

I gave up on making resolutions years ago.  But when I woke up this morning and saw the rising death toll in Asia, I felt compelled to give of myself.   Besides my prayers, there is nothing more I can do for those who are suffering.  I can however, make at least one positive change in my life.

It will be my pledge this year to stop complaining about the little things.  Each time I even think of complaining, I will think of how these people will "ring in" the new year.

No resolutions, as such.  Over a year ago, I resolved (not at NewYear's) to quit snacking, and I gradually started losing weight.  Christmas baking has messed me up, but I'm going to get back to it at the start of the new year.

Some one I make every year--lose weight.  This year, though, I must do it.  My husband found out he was diabetic a year ago and I don't want this happening to me.

My kids will both be teenagers in a couple of years and I need to be healthy to keep up with them.  The threat of disease and illness that comes with obesity is hopefully enough to scare this 40-something lady into making a major life change this year.  If I do, I will post pictures.

I've resolved to not make any resolutions, so therefore I don't break any at all!  Grin

I'm ending this year after several months of medical concerns.   I do resolve to keep myself healthy as possible, not only this year 2005, but always.  This mean exercizing more, continuing my vitamins, always eating the right foods and being ever so thankful for the good health I've enjoyed all these years!

So...how are we doing so far on the resolutions we've made?

So far, since Jan. 14th, I've lost 18.5 pounds.  Grin
