Tsunami

Do any of our viewers know much about Tsunami and the chances this could happen again?

What are the chances of it happening in the Hawaiian Islands?

California Coastline?

Wouldn't all islands with volcanos around and undersea be subject for this to happen again at any time, anywhere?

What actually is happening is an earthquake under the sea, right?  Then the devasting aftermath?

Tell us what you know!

(just to clarify, even though this is a response to your message Luci, this reply is directed at everyone)

What happened is a terrible thing, and it could happen again certainly, but so could being hit by a bus or having a heart attack or whatever...and I would caution any of you to not let the sorrow and fear of this situation take you to a place where you are terrified of it.  Life is precious and there are many ways it can be cut short, but the lesson should be to live life to it's fullest rather than to live in fear.  Live, love, experience life, share your joy with those around you, go to bed with a smile on your face and thankful for what moments you've had so far...

I'm not fearful of it, just wanted to know for myself.
We've been strong enough to go on and survive 9-11,
we can handle any crisis now, even though we don't want to!   We are stong!

We may be able to control terrorists, but not our planet.

well... I think... this event may happen again... but I hope in another century or more....  I guess, this may possibly occur again within the Ring of Fire, which is around the Pacific Rim where volcanos are lined up....

I saw a documentary on tsunamis and the term tsunami is a japanese term for big waves or something.. Japan has experienced a lot of this in their history...  Japan is within the ring of fire....

I think Hawaii is not in the ring though the island is built on a volcano... but we'll never know... and I just hope and pray that another big underwater quake like that one won't ever happen again (specially in the Pacific for there would be more possible casualties and damages)...
