The passing of an old friend
« on: Jan 3rd, 2005, 5:14pm »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

There are some posters here who started out at the SA boards and chat a few years ago, who will remember Moppy.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago and went through the chemo and radiation, but it  spread to her bones.  Her last few months have been spent at hospitals, nursing homes and finally hospice care.  She passed away this morning.  Rest in peace, Moppy.  Cry

Oh pocket, how sad.  I remember her, but did not know her as well as some of my other friends.  I feel just awful. Cry

I will say a prayer for her and her family.  She was very sweet and I know she has gone to a better place.

I did not know her personally, but I have seen her name posted a few times before.  My sympathy goes out to her family and friends.  It's always hard when you lose a loved one.

Thanks for letting us know Pocket.  I didn't know her but I'm sure I would have liked her.  I'll say a prayer for her family.  I'm glad she is no longer suffering.

Sad Very sad to hear this. She was a very nice and genuine person.

I think I am still wearing the Go Moppy ribbon over at SA.

Sad to know she suffered so long.  Now she is resting and at peace.

My sincere sympathy and prayers go to her family at this time of sadness.

thank you pocket.  I have been following moppy's brave journey with breast cancer and keeping her in my prayers over the last year or more.  I was so saddened to hear that she had passed away.

She was a wonderful person in so many countless ways.   My first memories are of her keyboard and the smiles that brought to us. She had a good sense of humour and strong character.  My memories of her are so very much more now and I send prayers and hugs for Moppy's family and also the members at Survivor Addicts who became so close to her and she to them.

Blessings to all.

I went to SA to see if there was anything about moppy there, but can't seem to find a word.  Am I missing it?  I haven't posted there in years but wanted to express my condolences.

Dixie, it's under Gabby's Home Front, and it's part of the thread that Moppy started, Battling Breast Cancer.   She had been unable to post because of computer problems for quite a while.  Slitter started communicating with her and posting updates.  What we've heard from and about Moppy for the past three-four months has been through Slitter.

I went over there to express sympathy but they don't let guests post and like you Dixie, I haven't posted there in years and couldn't even remember my log in data.

If anyone wants to express their sympathies for Moppy over at SA, you can send me a PM. I'll copy your message there.

This is the saddest news.  I have such fond memories of Moppy.  Thank you Pocket for telling us.
