Cat Question

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help me out here, i think my cat Abby is sick  Sad (well I know she is).  She threw up today, before she did she let out a mewo, a very loud one then got sick, a yellow liquid, very yucky looking.  Then she a few hours later she did it again mewo and all but this time it was a white liquid.  So i took her food away and gave her only water just so her tummy could have a rest.  Im keeping an eye on her and we will wait and see what happens.  I just hope she is ok, shes so cute.

What do you guys think....

Thanks...

From Abby...He He He

one of my cats had the same problem some years ago......it turned out she was lactose intolerant.

do you feed your cat milk?

most cats can't drink cows milk and it may be years before they show any signs  of not being able to handle it.

Once i cut milk from my cats diet she was fine.

Hope this helps.....you may need to take her to your vet.

also.....do you know if your cat may have eaten or played with a mouse latelyHuh sometimes if a mouse has eaten rat/mouse poison and then a cat plays with it the cat can get some of the poison in it as well.

If your cat still has an appetite  I doubt it would be a poison....she may just be feeling a tad off colour!

let us know how she's doing!

I hope your kitty is feeling better.  I never liked paying vet bills, but if her sickness keeps up, I'd take her.  She could have something that requires meds.   Is she still drinking water?  Watch her because they can dehydrate quickly.

Just to clarify my statement, I do take my animals to the vet, but usually wait and see for a day or so first.....unless they act like they have pain, then I can't get in the car fast enough.

I called the vet today, and she said that as long as she hadnt gotten sick again to give her, her food.  So I did, yes she is drinking lots of water.  Im the same as you Pocket, I will take my cat to the vet if I have to but in this case i dont think I have too, she seems to be back to her self, not as hyper but getting there.  The vet said that if she gets sick again to bring her in, its been 24 hrs now she hasnt again.

As for her food, we feed her cat chow light (she's fat) 1/2 cup a day (in the morining)  and half a pack of tender fittles at night, and we only give her bottled water and she gets fresh water twice aday.  And of course she gets her treats.  I have to admit she gets the odd ppl food but no more.

Thanks again for your responses, I was really worried last night, but you guys calmed me and and so did the vet...

Abby is so precious to me, thanks all for your thoughts and suggestions.  Abby has made a complete recovery.  I wish I had a pic on the computer to show you but I dont.  But she is beautiful.  She is a Taby.

Thanks again,
Abby and Neelloc
