we live in the state of New South Wales. Our capital city is Sydney We are on the east coast of Australia.

We live in a suburb called Cronulla....it is a beachside suburb and has the best beaches in all of Australia...( of course) Cronulla is home to one of the best football teams in Australia....The Sharks.....and it is also home to many of our countrys sporting heroes and actors. Ian Thorpe the olympic swimmer lives just a few doors down from us!

We are about a 25 minute drive from the city of sydney.....sydney of course  is the home of the Opera House, The Harbour Bridge and the most beautiful harbour in the world!!!

Our State premier is Bob Carr.....the longest running premier in NSW history...( i voted for him)

Ilove Sydney and all it has to offer....great beaches, restaurants, shopping, live theatre and some fabulous historical places like "the Rocks".

My heritage is Irish and Scottish....mums side is from County Armagh in northen Ireland and dads side is from Glasgow scotland. I have many many distant cousins in the USA from my dads side of the family and in fact I am related to two hollywood ledgends.......Ginger Rogers and Rita Hayworth.

Pennslvania:
Capitol:  Philadelphia

Abbrev.:  PA

Pro Football Teams:  Pittsburg Steelerss, and Philadelphia Eagles

Electorial Votes:  21 ( I think)

We were the second state to enter the union

I live in Berks County which is one of the biggest counties in the state, and live in Reading (prononced Red-ing) which was once very famous for our outlet malls, and railroad, which is featured on the Monopoly game board.  Reading is now gone downhill.  The high school where I teach is over crowded, and we were the 25th most dangerous city in the United States in 2000-2002.  We are starting to bounce back though Cheesy

The only thing our town is famous for is one thing..... that one of the players on the NE Patriots is from here! My High school has his old team jersey up on the wall..... lol.

As for me, both sides of my family are mostly German... And a little bit of Irish.

Uhmm.. I live and grew in Caloocan City, a northern component city of Metropolitan Manila.  Metro Manila is the National Capital Region of the Republic of the Philippines with the city of Manila as the capital.   So basically I'm from Manila.

Manila is situated on the shores of Manila Bay on the island of Luzon.  Manila was born out of the Pasig River dating back the 14th Century.  On 1521, the Philippines was discovered by Spain under the leadership of Ferdinand Magellan on their search for spices on the east.  On the second return of Spaniards, they came to name the Philippines in respect to King Philip of Spain.  Manila became the center of government.  They built the walled fortress of Intramuros ("Walled City").  Spain ruled the country for 333 years until the Americans came to "help" liberate the country after the Mock Battle of Manila Bay, where the US bought the Philippines from Spain.  The US setup a Commonwealth Government for 40yrs until WWII when Japan conquered Manila. Manila was the 2nd most destructed city after Warsaw during WWII.  Now after the war, Manila is a congested metropolis of 15 Million people.

We have tropical weather.  With two seasons, wet and dry.  June to November is the monsoon (wet) season. The rest of the year is dry.

I work in Makati City, another component city of Metro Manila and is the Financial center of the country with tall scrapers.

your welcome... Cheesy

the Philippines has a long dark history of colonization from the abusive claws of the Castillian friars, the rape of Manila by the Japanese, and the control of the US.... well at least the US took care of us more than our other colonizers... plus the US has given us democracy and our constitution... Cheesy

anyways.. Manila still has the remnants of the Spanish architecture though many was destroyed by WWII... I'm lucky I wasn't born on that era...

some pix

sorry for loading many pix... just promoting my country.. Grin

for more info of Manila and the rest of the country, you can click on this official tourism site..  Grin
