She is 11 yo now. I emailed today to see how she is but haven't heard back yet. It's really hard not to be angry all the time.

Why not get another one for yourself?  I know none other can replace this one, but it will give you one to love.  Check out the local doggie adoption center.

I've thought about it luci but I don't think that I am ready yet. One thing that I have been asked to do that I am considering is working with the therapy dog at the childrens hospital where I work. Jespah is a registered therapy dog but I had to quit taking her in for visits when she developed some health challenges. I think that maybe working with the other pups will help fill that void. Thanks everyone for the support.

(this is just a subplot)
well there was this couple who got a divorce (I think) and the hubby got to keep the dog, but the wifey didn't get anything (but she only wants to have the dog). So... she and her friend the lawyer (Reese Witherspoon) used legal jargon (she gave this bunch of papers to the husband and she does some lawspeak) and threatened the hubby to give the dog to the wifey. They succeed.  Cheesy
 
Actually, I'm not even sure to trust what we see from that movie.  Grin
