Question about Aiports and snow
« on: Feb 23rd, 2005, 10:15am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

Are there any experienced travelers around who can help me out?

I am supposed to fly out tomorrow for Florida, so of course they are calling for snow all day long (total of 6-8 inches)

Is this considered moderate?  If they keep the runways clear will most flights not be delayed to long?

Not that I'm the most experienced traveler on this forum, but I would say
since you're flying "out of" instead of "into" a snow area, you should be fine!

Those planes get up fast and it won't take but a few minutes
until you'll most likely be above any bad weather.

Don't take my word for it, check with your area weather
report and most of all, go with your common sense.

Have a wonderful trip Cool

Expect delays, and don't complain about the extra time they take to de-ice the plane.  Too many planes have crashed recently because they didn't bother to do so.  Make sure you take snacks and something to do (a book, a magazine, a deck or cards, something!) and just expect delays.  That way if they are on time, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm a safe flyer, if there's a need to de-ice the plane, I'm not flying Roll Eyes Wink
Snacks is a must for so many of the planes do not offer food.
Have a sfe flight, Angel and enjoy your vacation! Grin

Thanks Luci!  They shouldn't have to de-ice, it shouldn't be that cold here, but if they do i hope they do it right!!
