Do Any Of You Experience Shoulder Pain?

The past weeks my right sholder is giving me heck with pain!  I cannot lie down on the right side first, it is that painful!
I have on a band for tennis elbow at this time for it hurts  from the back of my shoulder to my elbow.  I'm keeping it close to my side and hope it will eventually go away!

If any of you have it, please share with all of us the cure for this horrible pain Cry

As I will be an Official Senior Citizen in April, I'm lining up the Specialists I plan to see on April 14th! My Luci tell me I can go on April 1st, but this one is taking no chances.  Last year I got caught in between by the hospital stay and don't want to get bit in the rear again Lips Sealed with extra Doctor/Hospital bills  Undecided

The only time I have ever had shoulder pain like this and wasnt able to lay down was when I had a muscle spazm in my back, the pain was so unbarable, not sure if that could be it or not, I had to go see my doctor, there was nothing I could do for the pain by myself.  The doctor gave me a muscle relaxer and T-3's.  That worked wonders.

Trying to remember my shoulder pain (torn rotator cuff) which required rotator cuff surgery in Sept.   I also couldn't find a comfy position to sleep, and I seem to remember pain radiating down my arm and pain in the back of the shoulder as well.  If you have a small rectangular pillow, you can try propping that arm by placing it between upper arm and side. (If you sleep on your side) It gave me a little relief.

As soon as you're legal, make your appt.  Sometimes they can do a simple repair and relieve your pain.    Meantime, baby that arm.

If you're right handed, you'll have a harder time of it, sorry to say. I hope it's not a tear.  After the surgery, I had 6 weeks of physical therapy-3X a week to regain full range of motion.

When my surgeon released me, he gave me this encouraging news:  If I start having pain in my right shoulder to make an appt.  Often shoulder problems happen in both shoulders.  This is all supposing you have a problem in the joint.  You might have tendenitis.  If you can take it, ibuprofen helps.

Good luck, luci.

Well my dad has been having shoulder pain, and it's tendonitis. He's been taking ibuprofen, and it's working for him.

I was going to say a rotator cuff injury too  I have found that ice sometimes helps.  You really should see your doctor.
Good luck with it!

The first step is a visit to your gp, and he/she will refer you if it's required.  I hope it's a simple thing.  If not, you'll have to resign yourself to being sidelined for a while.  It's worth it not to have that pain.   If it's a simple repair, the surgery is less involved, so I hope that's it.

Thanks for the good advice ya'll Grin  My son thought his shoulder surgery was for a rotator cuff a few years ago.  Turned out he had a bone piece, like a tooth bud on a person's gums, that had to be removed.  This caused him a lot of pain, but is fine now!

We wanted to go to church today, but to hold my arm up long enough to do my hair is impossible.  I have to do it in stages!

For now, I'm going to try and stay off here as much as I can tear myself away and give it some rest.  As long as I hold it to my side as now, I'm OK for the most part.

The next few days I'll be busy with other things, taking items from our closets witht he left hand, going to my daughter's home for our family to celebrate my Mom's birthday on Tuesday!

Meeting Reset for Dinner!  I'll get my hair done at the Salon that day.  I'd hate to meet anyone with the mess I would make of it!  I might show up with the comb tangled up right in front! Roll Eyes

Everyone have a wonderful relaxed Sunday Cool Grin
