An Editorial from my Brother

From time to time my brother writes editorials to the local paper.  Many have been published but I doubt this one will.     Wink

To The Editor:  I was very disappointed this morning when I opened the "Sun Herald" Editorial Page (note only 1 page), hoping for an opinion from Thomas Sowell, Walter Willliams or at least George Will, when what do I see right next to the editorials but, "THE BUZZ".  That is bad enough, as usually I don't have to look at "The Buzz", which is nothing but Hollywood, tabloid, malarky, which should not actually be in a REAL NEWSPAPER!   But, to make matters worse, what is one of the headlines??  "Jolie: I did not sleep with Pitt"..
Ordinarily I would have just tossed the paper into the recycling bin, but my curiosity was aroused as I was not sure if Ms Jolie was speaking of Brad Pitt or the city of Pittsburgh.. Either of which would be believable!  So I read on as Ms. Jolie stated how,as a typical Hollywood knucklehead, she enjoys intimacey with males, females, and all of her friends.. Do you have any idea how many 8th grade boys are going to lay awake tonight trying to figure out how to become one of Ms. Jolie's friends?
Now, as far as I'm concerned "Ms. Jolie" can sleep with the Harlem Globetrotters, the Vienna Boys Choir, the U.S. Ladys Soccer Team, and a simian sub-human (which would explain Billy Bob Thornton), BUT IT AIN'T NEWS!!
I expect this kind of malarky from the trash I see at the grocery store check out line, not next to the Editorial Section of a real newspaper! Puhleeze!
I think the only way Ms. Jolie would be newsworthy in your paper would be if she had 40 pounds of collagen removed from those lips, actually married a normal, heterosexual male, attended church, had babies that weren't named "Cumquat", and stayed married longer than Britney Spears.
But don't count on it..

It's funny we have a newspaper called  the "sun Herald" here too and it often is full of trash as well!

What some newspapers consider news is appalling. I"m sure most of you have heard of the most annoying Australian tennis player of all time...Lleyton Hewitt.....well in january when the Tsunami was still first and foremost on everyones minds and still major headlines what did our local papers cover as their leading news story ....."LLEYTON AND BEC ENGAGED, HE PRESENTS WITH A $200 000 ENGAGEMENT RING"

well excuse me but whoop..de.bloody doo! the story refered to mr hewitt and his 21 year old girlfriend of just 8 weeks getting engaged. Bec cartwright also happens to be the darling of Australian television as one of this countries leading soap stars!!!!......the story just happened to be front page news the morning after Lleyton Hewitt LOST the Australian Open...the first grand slam tennis event of the year....Hewitt made sure that the poor guy who actually won the event would NOT be front page news by announcing his engagement!

Mind you all this came just 3 months after he broke up with his long time fiancee Kim ClijstersHuh?

As for the $200 000 diamond engagement ring.......nobdy needs that! Bec sweetheart after you've been married to Lleyton for 20 years, given up your carreer to follow him around the tennis circuit, raised his kids and put up with his tantrums then and only then should you recieve a ring like that!

To me this story was of perhaps local interest howver I certainly feel it didn't warrant front page headlines!
