I'm here!  Grin

I'm "on call" for a major retail store and ... ugh!  The work is hard for this old body.  Today, I was on my feet for 7.5 hours, picking up clothing from dressing room floors that customers had just left heaped in a pile, refolding and rehanging clothing that had been carelessly handled, pasting a smile and a positive attitude in the face of adversity, etc.  One young customer got very "witchy" with me when I wouldn't let her use her "aunt's" credit card.  Hello?  I'm sorry, honey.  You are no longer allowed to use another person's credit card, even if Walmart let's you.  It's called identity theft!  Undecided

Anyway, I was actually in the hospital this week--I kid you not!  I had chest pains on Tuesday and the doctor put me in the hospital right away for overnight observation followed by a stress test and MRI of my heart.

Long story short, all is fine.  At least I know I have a healthy heart and did not have a heart attack.  We're guessing that it might be reflux but the doctor and I will look into that later.  At least, for now, we know that my life isn't in danger.  I feel great.

So...LOL...you can see I've been busy this week!  Tomorrow, I go to church and hope that the kiddos in my children's choir don't slap each other in the faces with the palm branches they are carrying in the church service.  THAT should be interesting!
:laff:

Great to hear from you, Rupey!  I have two comments.

1. Service sector jobs:  Once you have had a "service" job, whether it be in retail, restaurant, etc., you gain a better appreciation and understanding for those helping you.

I cannot stand ppl who leave their clothes crumpled up in the dressing room.  I taught my kids to hang them up and put them back where they found them.  Doing less is just thoughtless.  I could go on and on about this subject but will spare everyone my rantings.

2. Chest pains:  I am so glad that your heart is okay.  Take care of yourself, Rupey!  We will be expecting an update on what it is that's causing this problem for you, so don't be a stranger.

Amen to that. I used to manage a record store in a mall when I was younger. I always swore that anyone who wanted to have kids should work in a mall, best form of birth control I could imagine.

In that same vein, I find I am much more patient in line during the holidays. Those poor cashiers are working their tail off and people will gripe and gripe in line. I make a point to be as pleasant as I can when I get up to the cashier and hopefully show them someone was happy with their job. I knowa little kindness always went a long way to help get through a rough day at work.

Good to hear you are doing well Rupey.
