Walk for my baby

You all know my baby Sydney Grace was born over a month early. Labor was expected to be early because she was a twin, however, her brother, Ian died at birth. Despite being pregnant with twins, I never should have gone into labor so early. One out of every eight children born in the U.S. are born too soon. It is a serious problem and there is no known answer to this problem.

I don't want to solicite anything because I know that can be a bother, but this is a huge problem and it happened to me. I ask that you consider this cause and research it yourselves. You all have supported me so much and I appreciate it so much more than you understand.

If interested, please visit http://www.marchofdimes.com and research the cause yourself. Thanks everyone!

it's a great cause  Cool  and the more that we research the cause of early birth the more we can try to prevent it.  For the sake of our children.   Tongue  It's so great of you to consider this even though Sydney is still only a few weeks old.  Good for you Rachel.

My daughter was not only born early (36 weeks) but was low birth weight for her gestational age.

The March of Dimes is a great charity and deserves all the support that we can give.

I won't go into all of it but we lost our first son a week after his birth due to a brain hemmorage.  Two years later we were expecting again and my wife gave birth to our second son at 31 weeks.  He weighed 2 lb. 10 oz. and had to stay 7 weeks in the neonatal intensive care baby unit before we could bring him home.    Because of the great medical care and testing into the causes of how my first son died, I truly believe that we are fortunate to have our second son!   Today, he is a healthy, strapping six foot, 170 lb. young man doing great in his freshman year of college, pestering me to send more spending money . . . . . and I wouldn't have it any other way! Wink

Support your local March of Dimes, it is truly a great organization.

I work in a Childrens Hospital and see first hand everyday both the joy and heartache of premature births.

Please support the March of Dimes and your local childrens hospital!

I'm overwhelmed by all the support you all have for this organization! It is obvious that you all have interacted with March of Dimes before, and I cannot express my gratitude. I truly believe that were it not for the March of Dimes, Sydney would not be here today.

Bumper, it makes me smile to hear your story. I have prayed for Sydney for nine months now, and will continue to pray for the next ninety! Thanks for sharing your story, it gives me hope.
