What does DHARMA stand for???

Does anyone know what Dharma stands for?

I'm thinking it's Death Holigraphic And Resurection Monitoring Agency.....or something close.  With all the number of people reappearing on the island after they've died and even in Locke's dream of Eko's brother, whom he never even knew!, it  seems to me it has to be something along those lines.  And all the magnectic energy's sapping planes from the sky carrying the "chosen"....very interesting indeed.

Been a big fan of the show and I read the board on the forum regularly, just not much of a poster.  Sorry if this question has already been asked.

A very interesting question indeed.  I always assumed it was just for the word Dharma, but it could be something more.

I'm with Rhune... never thought about it meaning something.. just assumed it was the word Dharma...however, after doing some research.. you are correct.  The producers have said it is an acronym, but have yet to disclose what it means... another puzzle to consider.. :-D

LOL....the subleties of this show are endless.  Maybe the "R" stand for Re-creation.  It just clicked after watching Wednesday's episode after Locke's dream...there some sort of holigraphic thing going on.  It would explain the black smoke that appeared too.  I've been curious about the smoke incident and why haven't the giant polar beasts appeared either?  Were they too, holigrams?

I thought the polar bears came from Walt, that he created them, so since walt isn't around, the polar bears don't exist either

Dharma from "Dharma and Greg" only because Jenna Elfman is completely hot and the producer has a crush on her.  Grin

It stands for Department of Heuristics And Research on Material Applications (revealed as part of the Lost Experience on The Hanso Foundation site)
