Hi , I think I read this on LOSTPEDIA , one theory of the black smoke was that it could be a load of nano machines ? this seems very similiar to the book by micheal crichton PREY ? anyone read it ?
 
Im surprised i haven't heard more about this.

yep, that theory has been around for a while... there were rumours that the guy who was supposed to be in the seat where Jack was sitting (remember he scooted out of his seat and moved closer to Rose while she was alone, so he was not in his "assigned" seat)... anyway, the guy who was supposed to be there was rumoured to be some sort of scientist working with nanobots in a theory way back in season 1...
