Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake?

Johnny Depp is the new Willy Wonka...
 
What do you think? A lot of people will stick their noses up because its a remake of a classic... whereas I welcome a new persons perspective, especially Tim Burtons, on such an amazing film.
 
 
So..... arguements against and for?

I have a lot of respect for Johnny Depp. He has a knack for finding great characters and he is an amazing actor. If anyone can pull it off it would be him.

Johnny Depp is cool. A Tim Burton film? Hmmm... It will be another ride to a creepy paradise... I might check it out...

Johnny Depp really knows how to step into character (along with Val Kilmer)....  I liked the original, I can only imagine how the oompta-loomps (whatever they're called and spelled) will look

As a little kid this movie was the equivalent of a horror film.  I seem to recall it put me in tears when I was 6 or 7...heh

LOL! Yeah, even Disney's "Alice in Wonderland", when I was a kid, and watching it at night when my parents are sleeping, is very scary... even now, I think its a creepy film...
