Did Anyone else see this?  Other than the casting of Billy Bob as Davy Crockett I think it was a good movie, any thoughts?

My mom is bugging me to go see it. One of my distant relatives (Col. Travis) was there.

My wife and I don't see many at the theatre so I figure I will just wait for it to come out on rental.

We've also heard the movie is so-so, but do want to see it.  Billy Bob's performance is worth the price of a ticket, we've heard, and is Oscar worthy.

I reccommend it, I do not, in general, like movies about wars, and fighting, and death, but I enjoyed this movie immensely and was not at all bored!  If you like American history i think it's worth the 8.50

I'm going to see it some time this week, (was going this weekend and ended up teaching Sat. School.. ).  Course, being from Texas I think it's a requirement or something that I have to see it...  Wink

TEXAS History, this one is!  We saw it yesterday and enjoyed it very much.  It is as good a re-enactment as it can be, I guess!
Billy Bob was wonderful in it and made a great Davy Crockett.  He may be a rascal but is drefinitely Oscar worthy with his acting talent.

I like then ending with General Sam Houston.
My Gr Gr Grandfather was in the regiment with him and was at the Battle of San Jacinto, so this held a personal interest for me.    Maybe it is just a movie, but it did give me a picture of how the battle and surrender might have been that day.
