May 9th they are showing Harry Potter 1 on ABC and during that there will be a special 10 minute long preview of the upcoming 3rd movie - Prisoner of Azkaban.

When will it be released anyways? And oh, I am a fantasy fan, but never really a Potter fan, so based on the story, which is better 2 or 3? I have seen both movies, and 2 was a lot better than 1 cuz its a bit creepy and the plot got some cool twists... 1 is purely for kids in my opinion...

Anyone who's read the series will tell you that 3 is the best book of them all - the BEST hands down. I am absolutely excited for the 3rd movie, plus this time it has a new director who's not afraid to get a little darker with it - which the 3rd book needs.

yeah i heard it was a great chapter in the book... so i hope it would also be better than its 2 prequels... Grin

its just that the characters look more matured now.. as i saw its trailer.. harry looks more of a man now rather than a kid and so was hermione who very much more of a lady.... Grin

they should have filmed it the way LOTR has done... IMHO

That's correct, each book represents another year in school and the children are supposed to age. However, the actors are slightly older than the characters in the book. They were supposed to start out at age 11, and I am pretty sure the actors chosen started at 12 or 13, which was ok at first, but now they are outstripping the book a little in size, in the movies. In the latest previews Harry looks more like 15 to me, not the 13 he's supposed to be in the book. At the same time they aren't typically up front about the age in the films, so it's not a big deal - all the children are aging together and so they are at least in proprotion to each other. I would rather pretend the students are just a little older than have them recast with new children slightly younger at this stage, frankly. The 3 leads have all signed for a fourth movie, but last I heard the boy who plays Draco has not - I'd hate to see him replaced. Beyond the 4th film, they are all saying "we'll see".

yeah.. it would seem like off to change a face in a series of movie.. also i remember that one of the old characters (a professor I think) have already died during the production of the third part.. Grin

And Draco Malfoy's actor didnt sign up? Any news or comments he made on why he didnt? My 14 year old sis got a big crush on him! About beyond the 4th movie, I think they will still sign up, they love Potter plus they are earning millions! What more can they ask! I hope they wont end up like Maculay Culkin or however you spell it...

The actor was so ill during the shooting of the second film that he was often bed ridden, so they had this other actor play him in all the shots that did not have a close up of his face, and then had Richard Harris do a voice over for those scenes. Harris was very sick and physically unable to complete the shoot.

I read an interview awhile back on the actor who plays Malfoy and I can't remember exactly what it was, but he said Acting was not his real passion and he wanted to persue a career in....(and here I am drawing a blank but it was something performance related like ballet or opera)
