Episode III Release Dates Announced
April 05, 2004

The circle will at last be complete when Star Wars: Episode III is released to theaters in the United States and Canada, with a near-simultaneous release around the world, on Thursday, May 19, 2005. In Japan, Episode III will be released in July, the traditional month for Star Wars premieres.
Exact information for other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada will be coming shortly, so keep checking starwars.com for full details as May 2005 approaches.

In North America, May has been the traditional release date for Star Wars films since the first movie in 1977. The North American release dates for the previous films in the Star Wars saga are:

Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope - May 25, 1977
Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back - May 21, 1980
Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi - May 25, 1983
Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace - May 19, 1999
Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones - May 16, 2002

I know a lot of people really enjoy them, but I just can't get into episodes 1 and 2. I think some of the lines are just terrible.

Let me date myself here for a moment: I was a teenager when the very first Star Wars movie came out. It was a huge hit and was technologically the best thing I'd seen on the big screen up to that point.

The soundtrack was a huge hit, too. Marching bands everywhere were performing John William's theme song to the movie the next football season.

They have a BIG gap to cover in episode 3. Anakin turning evil, the fall of the Jedis, Anakin's 2 children, how that evil guy in episode 2 will be defeated, whats his name? D something...

Sorry not much into Star Wars since I'm more of a medieval fantasy person. But I agree, 1 & 2 aint as good as the classics. But atleast 2 was much better than 1... 1 is a total letdown!

I was a little kid when the first one came out (episode 4 by Lucas' titles) and I don't think a star wars reference goes by without my father mentioning that I threw a tantrum in the theatre and he missed the last 10 minutes of the movie cause he had to take me out to the lobby. :devilish:

www.supershadow.com is a pretty good site to get alot of questions answered about Star Wars episode III.
I do know that Chewbacca will be in the third installment

The original star wars will be released in September on DVD... I guess I need to go wait in line at the Walmart Grin

Original? As in 4, 5, and 6? I thought it is realeased in DVD already? I saw it at the malls...

well.. the plot of episode 3 is quite a big leap... yet before i have read a tentative plot of episode 3.. and i think i have posted that here before and it was great... the plot would start i think 2 years after episode 2 left off with anakin seduced by Darth Sidius with a lightsaber fight between anakin and obi wan... causing anakin in his fall at the lava pool which made every jedi think anakin is dead... but Sidius came back to get the almost dead anakin to revive him to a cyborg with parts showing him wearing the Vader helmet... with a great lightsaber fight among the jedi and the siths.. and the Falcon is to appear (Han Solo's spaceship).. and ending with Amidala carrying Luke Skywalker as a baby with the ghosts of the other dead Jedi knights.... Grin
