I too cannot WAIT to see this one.  I read the book when it came out years ago.  You can read some reviews about it here:

LL... so this was based from a novel??

yeah...i can't wait for it as well... i'm counting the days.... call it sadistic... but yeah I love disaster films as well.... like Armaggedon, Deap Impact, Independence Day, Dante's Peak, Titanic, etc.... Grin  I like the graphics they make to destroy a city (I don't know why, by NY sure have been a favorite for these...) and how they focus of the human emotion of survival, commaraderie, and hope...

Yeah, I agree pau_p1, I really enjoy the special effects, but it's the personal relationships and how people are portrayed dealing with the disaster that I like!!

Thanks for the review link LL!!!   Tongue

If any of you have windows media player there is awsome trailers on there to alot of movies. they have this one too. I too want to see it. If you like this kind of subject material  or liked reading The Stand by stephen King you may love this book its better than the stand. The book called "Swan Song" by Robert McCammon, is the best book I ever read. (read it twice) and its like 900 or more pages. Its about during and after a nuke blast between russia and the united states, it has everything in it. from weird two headed creatures to people growing hard growths on their heads, the devil, greed, survival, good vs evil. caravans of people led in old cars and trailers pillaging towns,  i could go on and on but it is a great book. here is a link to reviews about the book

Cool  I loved the Stand!!!  What a great book!!  The post apocolyptic genre is really interesting to me.....and of course, lends itself to having an all capable HERO to save the day for those fortunate enough to survive!!!  Whoohooo!!!  Great post!!   Grin

If you loved the stand read swan song. it makes the stand seem boring! im not kidding. a little girl  named swan is the major character in swan song. she has to be protected throughout the book. great read. let me know if you ever get to read it. barnes and nobles sells it i think. I believe like 10 or 15 years of aftermath takes place in this book.   kabi

Er, I took a look at the book, and I think this book is the one being filmed right now starring Pierce Brosnan, not the disaster flick. Sad
