The Terminal

Drama
An immigrant (Hanks) fleeing the war that ravages his tiny Eastern European homeland finds himself stuck in the terminal of one of New York City's airports when the time of his landing coincides precisely with the point at which the war causes his nation of origin to no longer exist, meaning that his passport and paperwork are no longer valid. As a man without a home, he takes up residence in the terminal itself, befriending the staff of the airport, and falling in love with an airline flight attendant (Zeta-Jones).

Release Date: June 18th, 2004 (wide)

Release Date Note: (8/25/03) DreamWorks has really been firming up their 2004 (and 2005) slates in the last two weeks, and that process continues with the revelation that they are aiming for a pre-4th-of-July release date of June 25th, 2004. The other movie currently scheduled for the same date is the supernatural thriller, The Forgotten, starring Julianne Moore. (9/28/03) Something that is worth noting about this release date is that it is the same relative weekend as Steven Spielberg's A.I.: Artificial Intelligence and Minority Report each had in 2001 and 2002. (10/2/03) Well, never mind that... DreamWorks has bumped this movie up a week to June 18th.

Title Note: (10/2/03) The original title of this movie was 'Terminal' but DreamWorks has now added a 'The' so it's 'The Terminal.' I wonder if the reason for the change to erase the idea that I first had when I heard the title of 'Terminal'... that it has something to do with someone with a "terminal" disease (it doesn't)? 'The Terminal' definitely make me think more of an airport than a death bed.

It very well does, LL.  However, the preview on it at the movies make it one we'll like to see!

Hanks seems to have a lot of movies this year (you'll notice it when his movies' trailers are shown back to back in the theater).

I think I'll watch it too. Cheesy
