Favorite Movie So far this year?

Of all the films you've seen this year, which was your favorite?  Doesn't have to be seen in a theatre to count, I know some of you like to wait for video/dvd.

Mine is by far The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.  It was a film that really stayed with me afterward and was just very thought provoking.  It's one I will buy when it comes to dvd.  Second favorite would have to be Harry Potter 3, followed closely by Shrek 2.

I think you're in the wrong section Rhune. Gotta move this thread to the movie section.

But so far, these were my favorite movies:

1. Shrek 2
2. The Day After Tommorow
3. Van Helsing

I wasn't very impressed with Harry Potter 3. I happen to be be a Harry Potter addict and was very disapointed by the inacuratiness of the movie. I don't think anyone who didn't read the book, understood the part when the divination teacher went all psycotic.

I love Harry Potter 3! Although it is confusing for non readers of Harry Potter, I still like how it was made. So favorite movie so far this year?

1. Lord of the Rings Return of the King (counts as this year for me, because it was shown here last January!  Grin)

2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
3. Spider-man 2 (hehehe, haven't watched it yet, but it'll sure be in my top 3...)

well.. I'd say...

1. Lord of the Rings -  Return of the King... as JP says it was shown here in January due to a local film festival...

2. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - not a reader... but i deeply appreciated the film.. no need for further explanation of the cast... its generally good.

3. The Day After Tomorrow

and probably the Day would lose its slot when Spidey comes this end of month.. Grin

for the movies I saw in VCD/DVD.. well... its the Sound of Music... i got curious to it and loved it... Grin

I didn't like Van Helsing much... maybe its because I don't like much about the Dracula, Werewolf, Frankenstein and the vampire stuffs... Grin

Spiderman 2 of course, and while it was totally stupid, I laughed hysterically at Dodgeball... Can't wait to see De-Lovely this weekend.. Cheesy

I do want to see De-Lovely, as I've been in several Cole Porter musicals.  Aside from that, I love Ashely Judd. Smiley  (Interesting tidbit:  She's married to Dario Franchitti, an Indy Racecar driver.  Coincidentally, I have a photo of Mr. Franchitti and myself Smiley)

Oh, I'll just post a new one for my new top three, can I Rhune?

1. SPIDER-MAN 2!!!  Cool
 - after I watched it, it is an instant favorite. Wow!

2. Lord of the Rings Return of the King (counts as this year for me, because it was shown here last January!  )

3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
(I really want to put this at number 2, but that is because I like the book version. But we're talking of movies, so there.)

Damn Philippine movie times! Eternal Sunshine isnt showing yet! Heard Carrey was great there...

The only ones shown here same or atleast a few weeks late in US are the blockbusters... Even Big Fish, I got the DVD yet havent been shown yet!

Anyways, this year...

Spider Man 2 is great - better than Lords of the Rings 3(as much as I love medieval fantasy).

Dawn of the Dead was pretty creepy too, even if Zombies aint supposed to scare me unlike ghosts.

And was the Last Samurai this year? Cuz if it was, it is one of my faves.
