The Aviator

 "The Aviator," directed by Martin Scorsese and written by John Logan, tells the story of aviation pioneer Howard Hughes (Leonardo DiCaprio), the eccentric billionaire industrialist and Hollywood film mogul, famous for romancing some of the world's most beautiful women. The drama recounts the years of his life from the late 1920s through the 1940s, an epoch when Hughes was directing and producing Hollywood movies and test flying innovative aircrafts he designed and created.  
Release Date:  December 17th,  expands to wide release December 25th.  
MPAA Rating:   PG-13 for thematic elements, sexual content, nudity, language and crash sequence.  
Distributor:   Miramax Films  
 
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Alan Alda, Alec Baldwin, Kate Beckinsale, Cate Blanchett  
Directed by: Martin Scorsese

Fr those of you who've never heard of Howard Hughes, google him up and read about this man.  His successes in aviation are on the recorod books, a Playboy, he went to Hollywood, dated actresses and was obsessed with cleanliness.
 
For years he lived on the 7th floor of the Princess Hotel in Acapulco, Mx., and died there, a hermit.   Very strange indeed, for a man who ws born into such wealth.
 
DiCaprio will be talked about for an Oscar nomination, as well as Scorsese, who is long overdue!

We saw this movie this afternoon.  We have to give him credit, he was an aviation genius, no matter how strange his behavior became.   He also made over 30 movies, went to Las Vegas and bought several hotel/casinos.
His last days/years alive were pitiful, but the movie does'nt show his ending.
 
We will say, "See it"!
