Anyone else seen this movie?  I saw it today, quite good, different.   Definitely a movie for men in their 30-40's!  Paul Giamatti was wonderful, however, and definitely deserves an award for his performance.

My problem was finding it.  I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and there were only about six theatres showing it.  Very "artsy" sort of movie.

As the Academy Awards are approaching February 27th, , we we always  try to view the nominated films if possible.

So far, we've seen
"The Aviator"
"Milliondollar Baby" and today
"Sideways"

In our opinion, it is an OK film.  Not one I would want to see take the Oscar for Best Movie of the Year!  It begins in San Diego and ends in Wine Country.
We thought 3/4ths of it were bland and slow.  The remainder funny and interesting showing the wine country.

Thomas Hayden Church definitely deserves an Oscar for his performance, just not this year.  It's Morgan Freeman's turn for his role in MDB as well as other films from past years where his performance was awesome!

We liked the movei, just not enough to award it an Oscar.

I watched this yesterday and was terribly disappointed. However, I knew in advance that I probably would be.  It was very slow and not funny to me at all. In fact I thought it was downright depressing.  And I hated the way it left you hanging at the end.  Undecided

I'm not surprized you said this, LL.
It was OK, but surely not Oscar worthy!
