Ok. Just wanted to get a thread going for those who have seen it so we can talk and not worry about giving away the plot to those who have not.

Just saw the movie last night and I liked it. Yes, Lucas is not that strong for writing lines but the action was good in my mind.

We all knew the Jedi would go through a genocide but it was still unsettling to see all them executed by those they trusted. The part with Anakin and the children was really hard but it showed how far he had sunk into the dark side and was necessary in my mind.

The funny thing is his whole series of premonitions about Padme's death. Nice little twist of fate that all he wanted was power enough to save her and in the end had he remained true to the Jedi she would not have lost the will to live and she would not have died in childbirth.

Now, onto the "chosen one". I mean seriously after Episode I it really didn't take a genius to figure out that to bring balance you must have a balance between good and evil. With only 2 Sith and thousands of Jedi that was a no brainer but it was needed for the plot, again.

Special effects were awesome. Battle scenes were great. Gotta love Yoda and Siddious battling, great action there. Heck, every Jedi battle was great.

Overall, I liked the movie. I thought it did a good job of wrapping up the whole story.

I loved it.  I went to the midnight showing Wednesday - me and a zillion other geeks (at least I didn't take a light saber..)

The best part to me was the irony of it all, the fact that he turned to the dark side to save Padma and then ended up being the one that basically killed her - whether it be the physical choking of her that caused it or the broken heart of his deception.  I almost cried when he realized he'd given up everything to save her, and she died anyway.

Was definitely worth staying up half the night for.. Smiley

I saw it last night - but from the 2nd row of the theatre!  My friend and I clapped as the music began.

I think she did die of a broken heart - that was too much for her to feel anakin thinking she had betrayed him and being choked/abused by  the one you loved.  her dying words "there is good in him"  tie to episodes 4, 5 6.

Images of Palpatine changing were pretty intense..and  could have been done better I think...will wait for george to explain....

The slaughter of the jedi - yea I had never imagined that.

I am worried for my students in school who saw it - seemed a bit much for young ones who were excited.

My movie companion and I discussed the ending with Yoda's message to Obi-wan about learning from Qui Gon...

I will go see it again - from rear of theatre  Smiley

I loved this movie,

The special effects were amazing, especially the last fight in the lava planet, seeing anikan turn so evil though almost made me cry, I was literally having gobs of tears in my eyes.  I loved how they ended the movie with the two suns and luke, I bet some how somewhere anothe Star Wars movie is made though.

Talk about grusome though, It is a good thing this one was rated PG-13.  All the heads and arms and people being killed, and Anikan burning to a crisp.  The words about the chosen one were also dear to my heart, it was very sad that Obi Wan knew he had to leave anikan there dieing.

Overall: GREAT MOVIE!

I don't think Anakin was the "chosen one" - I think they were a generation off in their "predicting".. I think the "chosen one" was actually Luke, they just didn't realize it at the time...

Darth Vader brought balance to the force because it was off balance without a bad side to balance the good side.  Luke Skywalker messed up the force's balance again and that is why he goes bad and then he kills Chewbacca when Chewbacca is saving Leia and Han's children.

Loved this episode (less than loved the last two, so this one made up for them).

My favorite scene, when Obi is leaving Anakin as he lays there broken, "You were my BROTHER. I LOVED you...yada yada yada."

I'll have to go see it again to remember all of it, but the impact was enormous. Can't remember if Anakin growled *I HATE YOU.* Before Obi's lil speech, but the emotional tension there was incredible.
