I just saw this film last weekend.... I'm not sure if you guys are familiar with it.. but it is based on a true story of the American GI POWs of WWII imprisoned in the POW camps of the Japs in a town in the Philippines....

well.. I've read in the net that the movie critics didn't liked it.. but I'd say it's quite a good film... and I'd say that they did a great job in reconstructing pre-war Manila with its tranvia in the middle of the streets.. the Hispanic architecture... coz Manila is the 2nd most destructed city in the world after WWII next to Warsaw.... also the typical rural architecture, the nipa hut with its capiz windowsills which are made of fish scales... and the
