DVD: Directors Label Series Two

Series one had Spike Jonze and Michel Gondry on it, if anyone is familiar with those two they have both directed films built on a Charlie Kaufman script -- Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind respectively.  They also head up this really cool project called the Directors Label Series that highlights the work of the leaders in visual art today.

A new one just came out, too.  I have the Mark Romanek disc that I got from UMVD to check out -- I figure he's probably the most well-known because of the videos he's done, but he also directed One Hour Photo.  Jonathan Glazer has a disc, too, and he's really big in the UK for the commercials and film that he's done.

Plus, the site utilized flash and has a neat collage on it: www.directorslabel.com

Mark Romanek was the first director that I truly appreciated. I watched MTV when I was a teen and I love the music videos he directed. I am surprised he directed Linkin Park's "Faint" because I like the video too.

Yeah, Romanek has a pretty diverse portfolio of artists that he's worked with, everything from Jay-Z to Fiona Apple.  I'm not really into everyone that he's worked with, but the videos themself make me kinda like the songs associated with them.
