I can't wait to see this one!  Joaquin (sp?) Phoenix looks like he totally rocks as Johnny Cash.  The music just sounds so good Smiley

And I am looking forward to seeing Reese in something that's not a romantic comedy!

Apparently, the media has been very impressed with Reese Witherspoon's performance in the movie.

I'm also looking forward to seeing this one.

We've just returned from seeing the movie.
Reese is awesome, as she's been one of our favorites for many years Cool
So was Joaquin, whom we've never cared that much about, but he was
convincing in this movie!

That reminds me of Sissy Spacek singing her own vocals in "Coal Miner's Daughter."  Her Oscar-winning performance in the role of Loretta Lynn was truly outstanding back then and still is by today's standards.

Reese and Joaquin did themselves worthy of Oscar Nominations.
We won't be surprized if their names are on the upcoming 2006 list.

Reviews I've heard said they should both be nominated.. but that Witherspoon should definitely win for her performance... that she was spectacular.  Think I may go see it this weekend... avoid the shopping crowds..

Kick ass movie, not as good as i thought it would be (plot wise) but NO ONE can fault the acting

They deserve the oscar nod for this for sure

Not really original (especially with Ray still in our minds... same kind of storyline... singer with drugs problems), but really well made !

I loved it ! And I agree, the actors were amazing !

It's very original, a true story!
A story of his love for her for many years  before it could be a marriage.
His drug addiction and rise to fame.
We liked knowing the story of his relationshp with his Dad,
although a sad one for many years!

We saw them in Concert a couple of time.  The last time down in front &
Johnny Cash was larger than life itself.  Very commanding of the stage!

I just saw this movie and I LOVED it. I love the music, love Reese, love the acting. It's really them singing?! I thought it was Johnny Cash and June Carter's voice!

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but I just joined...

This is my one of my favourite movies ever... I love Reese witherspoon and have all her movies, but this is one of my favourite. I love hearing her sing. I bought the soundtrack too and listen to it all the time.

I thought it was cool that before June and John died they picked the people to play them in this movie
