Well, after several hours of waiting we managed to get to see this movie tonight... we planned to go to the 440 movie, that didn't work out.. so we shopped a bit, and went to dinner, and got there for the 7:30 movie... which was sold out before we even got there.. so we bought tickets for the 10:30 movie (my dd was insistent we were going to see this on 06/06/06... ).  I was shocked, that one was sold out also, so I was glad we'd bought tickets at 7 when we got there earlier...  
 
Anyway, enough of my story... if you've ever seen the original and liked it.. you will love this one... if the original scared the heck out of you.. do NOT see this one.. LOL.  It was VERY well done, and stayed true to the story... I watched all of the original movies back in the 70's... and this one is just as good as those were.. maybe better...

Is it true that it's exactly like watching the original movie, they just changed the actors and maybe the setting? I haven't seen it yet but that's what my officemate thought.

It was VERY much like the original one... the story is exactly the same... and is very true to the book.  It was more gory to me than the original, but I guess that comes with the change in times... I enjoyed it, but then I liked the orginal ones...
