As a historical film it was interesting, but the director didn't do nearly enough to make you care about the characters. I keep reading about how Dillinger was supposed to be a modern Robin Hood who really preferred not to shoot people. In this film he was a machine gun toting maniac who you only hear whispers about how the common folk love him, and no real good examples as to why. I think the director WANTED you to care about his character, but he just didn't do a good job. At the end when the credits rolled, I think I sat up and said, "Hmm."
