Court TV Opens 'Forensic Files' to NBC Mon, Jul 8, 2002 06:28 PM PDT LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - In a first-of-its kind arrangement, NBC will air four episodes of Court TV's "Forensic Files" later this summer. The episodes will air at 8 p.m. ET Saturdays beginning Aug. 25. It's believed to be the first time a broadcast network has licensed the rights to a show from a cable network's current lineup. "We are thrilled to be working with NBC to bring ... 'Forensic Files' to such a large and important audience," says Henry Schleiff, chairman and CEO of Court TV. "This is further 'evidence' of our desire to forge mutually beneficial partnerships that help extend our brand." "Forensic Files" is one of the most popular shows on Court TV. The nightly half-hour show follows forensic experts as they search for evidence that will help solve real-life cases. The debut of the show on NBC also coincides with Court TV's "Forensics Week" programming stunt, which will feature new episodes of "Forensic Files" and related programming on another series, "The System." Court TV and NBC have worked together previously on a number of stories for NBC's newsmagazine "Dateline."
